Ocean Saver AS
Ocean Saver offers technology for cost efficient cleaning of ballast water to meet the International Maritime Organization (“IMO”) requirements for ballast water treatment.
Ballast water is carried by ships to ensure stability. Discharge of the ballast water provides a pathway for unwanted invasion of marine organisms to areas where they do not naturally belong and is considered one of the most serious threats to biodiversity. Consequently, Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) are becoming mandatory equipment onboard ship.
OceanSaver AS, established in 2003, has developed a unique and effective BWTS, reducing ballast tank corrosion, hence maintenance costs.
ECM invested in the company in 2007.
Co-investors include Storebrand and Leif Høegh.
