Spectraseis is a technology and service provider in the field of low-frequency, passive seismic surveys to assist oil and gas companies to find and exploit hydrocarbon reserves more efficiently.
Spectraseis, established in 2003, has developed and applies proprietary technologies, on land and offshore, to acquire and analyze low frequency (<10 Hz) seismic background waves continuously present in the Earth’s subsurface. The resulting information indicates the likely presence of hydrocarbons within a survey area.
The technology enables fast, dependable and cost effective way of acquiring new geophysical knowledge to improve the success rate of oil and gas exploration and drilling activities and improve production decisions throughout the life of a field. The company is also able to deliver seismic data acquisition in new frontier areas (desert, jungle, arctic) due to no need of active source.
The company has offices in Zurich (Switzerland), Houston (US) and Abu Dhabi (UAE).
ECM invested in the company in 2005.
Co investors include Warburg Pincus and Saudi Makamin Company for Oil and Gas Services.
