Aptomar offers a unique hazard awareness- and control system to the satefy critical marine segment by combining dynamic positioning, camera technology and searchlight functionality.
Aptomar was founded in 2005 as a spring-out from Institute of Engineering Cybernetics of University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. The company offers the SECurus system, the only shipboard hazard awareness and control system that reveals and tracks hazards in the sea and delivers images and location together on the bridge navigation display. This enables improved emergency response and coordination and reduces the cost of surveillance. Application areas include Environmental Monitoring (i.e oil spill monitoring), Search and Rescue, and Surveillance and Navigation.
ECM made its first investment in Aptomar in 2007 . Today, SECurus system is required as a standard for all Statoil operated vessels (new built).
