Investment Philosophy
ECM is dedicated to identifying and supporting growing technology companies that have the ambition to deliver innovative and unique solutions to the energy sector.
In the Upstream Oil & Gas Sector, we seek to invest in technology companies with strong value proposition in areas such as Exploration, Reservoir Management/Monitoring, Drilling & Well and Operation. We also seek companies developing technologies to reduce the environmental footprint in these areas.
In the Clean Energy Sector, we seek to invest in companies developing technology that help operators to drive down cost curves. Focus is put on the renewable energy sector and within carbon capture. We also have an opportunistic view on distributed energy and energy storage.
We will typicallt take minority positions (around 25-30%) in grow stage companies with a clear 3-6 years exit path. Geographically focus is primarily Europe and secondarily North America.
In addition to providing capital, ECM is an active, long term investor. Value is created through active participation at the Board level and in close collaboration with the company management.
